Hello everyone!
This week we'll be talking about a few cultural differences between Japan and the USA.
Taking a bath vs taking a shower.
I'd say many Americans take a shower almost daily and rarely take a bath.
On the other hand, in Japan, many people here take a bath almost daily and only some only take a shower.
Why don't Americans take a bath more often? Probably because it's a hassle to fill up and drain and then fill up again, considering baths are usually bubbly.
Young children walking to school.
In the states, many parents take their children to school or they are bussed to school.
In Japan, it is the complete opposite. Many children walk to school starting from first grade.
Why don't more children walk to school in America? I'd say that in general, Americans don't feel it is safe for their children to walk to school. Another reason is that some children liver further away than normal, so walking isn't an option.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner
In America, when food is served, generally it is all served on one plate. Whereas in Japan, generally, food is served in many small dishes.
Why? I'm not sure. Perhaps, it's just the difference in cultures? What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by! See you all next week!
