This week I'd like to talk about an experience, I've never had in the states. Being from Wisconsin, we didn't have bamboo to harvest because it was just too cold. The only time, I've ever seen bamboo in America was when I went backpacking in Tennessee. Unfortunately it wasn't the right type to harvest, but I was delighted to have been able to see bamboo in the wild.
After I came to Japan, I found out that bamboo was a very common thing here. I even wanted to try slicing bamboo in half like they do in the movies. LOL.
In the recent years, I have been very fortunate to have been able to dig up bamboo shoots. I absolutely enjoy doing it. I even brought out my son to do it with me.
