There are many phrases we love to use, but sometimes they are very hard to translate into another language. " 懐かしい " is one example of a phrase commonly used, but does not convert over word for word.

If you google search the phrase in Japanese, you often come upon the translation of "nostalgic". For example if you saw old pictures of the man made ski hill in Funabashi, you could say, "It's so nostalgic!", but it sounds a little out of place.

I think the correct phrase for the translation would be, "It really brings back memories!". Another way to say " 懐かしい " is "It reminds me of the good old days!" or "It takes me back!".
