Recently, survival based shows have started to pop up on TV in Japan. Shows like アイ・アム・冒険少年 are very popular among people nowadays. People like, あばれる君 show us survival skills and how to improvise with what you have. アイ・アム・冒険少年 also brings other people like めめ and さっくん from Snowman, onto the show to let them have a go at survival as well. It's not 100% survival, but it is very interesting and one can learn many things from this show.

I've seen a few survival tv shows, but found that most were not based on real survival or that they were fake or staged. For those who are interested in learning a little bit of English and some real survival skills, here is a man from the United Kingdom that has hosted many shows and is very interesting.

Follow Ed Stafford as he attempts to survive and escape from the wilderness in a variety of environments and conditions. Unlike many other survival TV shows, he is often alone and does most of his filming by himself. Sullivan shows us insight to the unforgiving wilderness and how to triumph in harsh conditions.
