It's getting warm again and the bugs have started to come out. Some of us may have already seen or heard pesky mosquitos. Other bugs that are out now are butterflies and some species of dragonflies. Bug season seems to be a big deal for many children in Japan. Bug nets and cages are sold in almost every place that has a pet section. Enough people like them that there is actually a good market for them here.
In my experience growing up in the states, bugs were not very popular as pets nor were they collected like they are in Japan. Although bugs are sold in pet shops across America, I have never seen anything as highly priced as I've seen here, in Japan.
Did you or someone you knew collect bugs when you were younger? And have you ever kept them as pets? Did you have a stag beetle?
