Hello everyone!
It's finally starting to feel like winter. At Spark, we've already put up our Christmas tree and have decorated the school. Have you done yours yet? Christmas is celebrated in Japan, but when compared to the United States, there are some differences.
In Japan, people commonly eat fried chicken and eat Christmas cake. Also presents are given to children and partners. People don't usually have the day off from work.
How about the United States? Can you guess what they are? Scroll down for the answer.

In the United States, many people don't eat fried chicken, but instead eat turkey or ham. Most surprising is that we don't eat Christmas cake. Most of us have never heard of it before coming to Japan. A dessert we often have during Christmas would be cookies or some sort of pie.
Many Americans also have the holiday as a day off and spend the day at home with friends and family. Presents are generally given to all that are present on the holiday, not just children.
These are just some of the common things that are different, but I'm sure there are a few I have miissed.
We hope you all found this interesting.
See you all next time! Thanks for stopping by!
