Hello everyone! Welcome back to another week of Teacher's コーナー!
This week we will cover a few uses of the word would. It can be very difficult to differentiate between them all, but I hope some of the examples at the bottom will help. Take a look!
Uses of "would".
When I was a child, I
would go fishing with my father every spring.
子供の頃、私は毎年春になると父と一緒に釣りに行きました。
If I had more money, I
would buy a new car.
もっとお金があったら、新しい車を買うのに。
I
would have called my mother, but my phone died.
母に電話したかったのですが、電話が壊れていました。
I said I
would do it tomorrow.
明日やると言いました。
He practiced the piano so hard, but he
wouldn't play at the concert.
彼はピアノを一生懸命練習したのに、コンサートでは弾こうとしませんでした。
