According to my research on the web, a typhoon and a hurricane is the same thing! Depending on where they form, they are given different names. It's all geographical!

Around Asia or the northwest of the Pacific Ocean, these storms are called typhoons. Around North America, these storms are called hurricanes. That's it! That's all there is to it.
