Some of the students at the school have asked me, "How many fish do you have?" It seems every time I answer, it's a different number.

Here's the reason.

Recently, my plecos, albino bushy plecos, have been breeding non-stop for the past three months. Before they started, I had about 50-60 fish in my tanks. But now I have over 100 fish, including the fry. I also have another batch that is being guarded by the male pleco. They usually hatch in a few days. Once they hatch, I will have even more!

What will I do with all these babies? Well, once they reach a two centimeters, I will either give them away to friends who want them or I will sell them on online flea markets or auction sites. With the money, I will then reinvest it into my fish hobby by buying more fish supplies and food, so I can continue to keep fish.

Keeping fish has always been a hobby of mine. I've had fish almost 25 years now. It is so rewarding when the fish breed, because it means you are doing the right things. Have you ever thought of keeping fish? Why not try it out?
