For the past twelve months, we have been washing and sanitizing our hands frequently and we have been wearing masks. We also have been practicing social distancing and for the most part it has become an unconscious thing for us.
But for some of us, social distancing has been in place for ages! I realized some time back that fishermen have been implementing this for as long as I can remember. When possible fishermen stay away from other fishermen. Once all fishing spots have been claimed, only then can other fisherman move in between other fishermen.
Occasionally, we do get the fisherman who ignores or is ignorant of fishing etiquette and will be given looks of disapproval when the fisherman encroaches upon someone else's fishing spot. With proper social distancing, we can all enjoy fishing.
Can you think of other situations where social distancing has been in place before the pandemic hit the world?
