Hi there! Today I would like to explain how we greet each other in America.

This information may not be true all over the U.S.A., but in general it is a common way to greet.

It is not uncommon for salesclerks, cashiers and even people you see daily to say, "Hi! How are you?" In this situation, most people will reply with, "I'm good, thank you. / I'm fine, thank you. & How about you?"

To end the conversation, generally cashiers will say, "Have a nice day!" And to that, you can reply with
"Thank you! You too! / Thanks! You too!"

If you have a chance in the future, we hope this bit of information will help you with your travels.
