For as long as I can remember, I have been around tropical fish. I would say that almost all of my brothers had pet fish at point or another. They went through their phases, but I was the only one who continued to keep fish over the years. I would say that I have had fish for over 25 years now.

The most fish tanks I've ever had running at one time was 14 aquariums. My biggest aquarium at the time was over 6 feet long (about 2 meters). During this time, I had over 100 fish and was always looking to add more fish to my collection. I have kept fish from all over the world.

Over the years through trial and error and from listening to the advice of fish hobbyists alike, I have learned so many things. Of course there are still so many things to learn, but I would say that I know enough about tropical fish to give proper advice to people just starting this very first aquarium. Currently I breed bettas and plecos. In order to feed some of the fish fry, I culture my own fish food to feed them. At home, I have over 50 bettas, a handful of goldfish and a few odd pairs of plecos. If I could do it, I would definitely put more time and money into the hobby.

I don't understand why I enjoy having fish, but I do know it is very soothing to the soul just to stare at an aquarium and its inhabitants without a care in the world.
